# Stop deployment

**POST** `/v1/deployments/{deploymentId}/stop`

Requests VM shutdown for the deployment. The deployment record and metadata are retained. Poll the status endpoint until `stopped` is reached.

## Authorization

Any ONE of the following options authorizes this operation; every scheme listed within an option is required together.
