service

Use service commands to manage the services in a project. A deploy produces a version of a service; one version is live at a time. Deploys start from deploy for a Composer app, from a git push once you set up deploy on push, or from the Console. The commands below inspect and manage services and the versions that already exist.

Commands are targeted by parameters, not by ambient state. A command that acts on a service takes the service as its first positional argument (service show <service>), with PRISMA_SERVICE_ID as the environment fallback; the argument wins when both are set. Scope with --branch <name> and --project <id-or-name>. There is no interactive picker: a missing target fails with a structured SERVICE.TARGET_REQUIRED error (exit 2) before any network call, even in an interactive terminal. Commands targeted by a globally unique version id (service version promote|start|stop|delete <version-id>) need no other context.

Command Description
service list List the services in a project (--branch scopes it)
service create <name> Create a service (--region, --branch)
service show <service> Show the service and its live version
service open <service> Open the service's live URL
service logs <service> Read logs for a version of the service. Defaults to the live version (--version-id <id> selects another). --tail <n> sets the line count (default 100), --from-start reads from the beginning, and --follow keeps polling
service delete <service> Permanently delete the service from the branch you target, after confirmation

Use service version commands to manage the versions of a service. Versions are created by deploys; these commands operate on the versions that already exist.

Command Description
service version list <service> List versions of the service
service version show <version-id> Show a version in detail
service version promote <version-id> Promote a version to production by rebuilding with production env vars
service version rollback <service> Roll back production to a previous version (--to <version-id>; defaults to the one before the live version)
service version start <version-id> Start a stopped version
service version stop <version-id> Stop a running version
service version delete <version-id> Permanently delete a version and the artifact it holds

Promotion rebuilds the version with production environment variables, so configuration changes take effect on promote. Rollback switches production back to an existing version. See Deployments.

Use service domain commands to manage custom domains for a service. All commands take a <hostname> argument plus the usual service and project selectors and a --branch <name> scope. Domains target the production branch by default. See Domains for details.

Command Description
service domain add <hostname> Register a custom domain on the service's production branch
service domain show <hostname> Show custom domain status and certificate details
service domain wait <hostname> Wait until a custom domain is active or failed (--timeout <duration>, default 15m)
service domain retry <hostname> Retry custom domain DNS verification and TLS provisioning
service domain delete <hostname> Permanently delete a custom domain from the service
